The ascent and descent of the Matterhorn had been a rather rushed affair, with guide Joseph Biner urging me to keep going, and disapproving of my urge to linger with a camera. Three shots on the summit, and then it was time to go down. Reaching the Hornli hut, Joseph stopped there, and I continued down on my own, but, when I looked back up at the mountain, I quietly thanked Joseph for getting me off the peak before the storm broke.
