Most days throughout the year I walk my dog, Cassie, in this stretch of woodland, and generally we have it entirely to ourselves. Whilst Cassie delights in the smells all around her (she walks with her nose to the ground, and has no appreciation of the visual pleasures of the natural world), I enjoy the ever-changing colours and moods of the seasons. This was late autumn, with a floor of fallen leaves, in the Scottish Borders.
