Image no. MT11 Suilven is not one of Scotland's highest hills, reaching a very modest height of almost 2400ft (731m). But what it lacks in elevation it makes up for in remoteness and sheer in-your-face defiance to anyone thinking of climbing it. Not that it is difficult to climb, it just looks as though it is. Referred to as "Scotland's Sugarloaf" it rises strikingly out of flat moorland, dotted with small lochs. Lochinver is the nearest village. |
