MT08 The Jungfrau (or Young Woman - with bridal veil) is not the highest mountain in the Bernese Oberland, but it is probably the most popular and recognisable peak in the area, its presence accentuated by the sweeping Giessen Glacier directly below its summit, and the pointed Silberhorn to the right. Seen here from Wengen, it is also well presented from Kleine Scheidegg, and from the shoulder that runs out from there to Mannlichen. |
