I came across this small lake when descending from the Gornergrat towards Findeln, above Zermatt. I was attracted by the symmetry of the two peaks and their reflections, emphasised by the central boulder and the edges of the lake leading directly towards the mountains, plus the simplicity of the colour scheme. The mountains are the Ober Gabelhorn on the left, the Wellenkuppe with snow cap, and Zinal Rothorn on the right.
