The Grandes Jorasses (4208m, 13,806ft) dominates the skyline at the top of the Mer de Glace, the great glacier that comes down past Montenvers, near Chamonix. This photo was taken the easy way, by taking the cable-car to the top of  the Aiguille du Midi and taking the picture from there. The clouds boiling up from Italy give an added sense of drama.
