These two Kashmir carpet sellers in Srinigar seem to reflect a fairly relaxed way of life, as they enjoy a 'hubble-bubble' outside their premises. It was not to last very long. Within a week the borders were closed, the tourists were gone, and the violence had started. The picture was quietly grabbed from a 'shikara' (see next picture) as we paddled gently past.
