Image no. AC05 Holy Island is situated off the coast of Northumberland, south of Berwick-on-Tweed, and is accessible at low-tide only, via a causeway. It is a delightful island, made up predominantly of sand dunes, and home to Lindisfarne Priory and Castle, and not forgetting Lindisfarne mead, made from honey, and very drinkable. On this occasion, a man was painting his boat. |
