Main Menu - List Hills.

There are 1300 hills in the database

  • The List Hills menu (shown left) lets you:
  • List selected hills by hill type or area.
  • List those you have climbed, or are still to climb.
  • See info about any hill, including height and location.
  • See photos of the hill (there are 2400 photos included).
  • Add further hills of your own, UK or Overseas.
  • Add your own photos to any hill.
  • Search for any hill by typing part of the name.

List by Area Maps.

  • There are 20 maps covering the Scottish Highlands,Borders, and Islands.
  • There are 3 maps for sections of the Lake District and one for total area.
  • There are 3 maps covering the Pennines and Peak District.
  • There are 3 maps for Snowdonia, Mid Wales and the Brecons.
  • You can add your own maps to include Overseas areas.
  • Any of the maps can be used to create routemaps for your Logs.
  • Distances can be assessed on the maps, and a Route Planner is included.

 

Photos of the Hills.

  • There are 2400 hill-photos included with the program.
  • The majority of photos are at full-screen (1024x768) size.
  • The photos can be run from the CD or copied to hard-drive.
  • The photos are displayed whenever you select a hill.
  • You can add your own photos to any hill.
  • Info about any hill is reached via the photos screen. by clicking on the Hill Info button. (see below)

Hill Info

  • The Hill Info window is accessed from the button below the photo (see above)
  • Info shown includes height, location, dates of ascents, and graded climbs or scrambles on the hill.
  • For Munros, the Tops are also listed.
  • The Log of any of the listed ascents is accessed directly by clicking on it.
  • The Climbing Routes box is hidden by clicking on it (or on the button) ...
  • ...and reveals a button which shows the area map with the hill highlighted.
  • For Scottish hills an approximate translation of the name is given.

...and of course, there are the Panoramas.
